Former India batsman Ambati Rayudu, who recently bade farewell to his cricketing career after failing to  make a spot in the Indian ICC World Cup 2019 squad, has, on Saturday, hinted about a possible return.

Rayudu, who is currently playing in the TNCA League, said he is eagerly looking forward to be a part of the Indian Premier League in the coming season. He also reckoned that he has not, at all, taken any break from white-ball cricket.

“I would definitely be playing the IPL for Chennai Super Kings and make a comeback into white ball cricket. My priority now is to get back into peak fitness,”

said Rayudu.

It can be noted that, Ruyudu who was never selected for the Test team, played 55 ODIs for India and scored 1694 runs at an average of 47.05.

Rayudu further said, “I wouldn’t say it was an emotional decision because I worked very hard for the World Cup in the last four years. You are bound to be disappointed and I felt it was time (to retire).

“The decision that I took was not because of rejection or anything else. You work towards something and when you don’t get it, you feel it’s time to move on.”

33-year old Rayudu has been a star performer for the Chennai Super Kings with whom he has been engaged since 2018.

The former national team batsman further said,“I haven’t thought much but I would prepare well to come back to white-ball cricket as soon as possible. I love the game, obviously. See ambition and targets are one thing but it still is the game I love. It is about playing cricket.

“I am very happy that CSK has always been very supportive. I would be really happy to prepare well for the IPL and represent CSK. Definitely, I would be playing the IPL,” he added.
