The newly embellished Test team of Asia Afghanistan are all set to face Bangladesh in their very first white jersey encounter in an one-off Test series starting from September 5. The match is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury in the port city Chittagong.

The two spin-heavy combinations will look for tough competition in the longer version. Both sides slipped against spinners in the two-day preparation match at the aforementioned venue.Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan reckoned batting would made the difference between two teams. He also voiced strong hopefulness of winning the match in whatever margin it comes.”We will try hard to win the match whether with two-three pacers or spinners. And the team will operate according to plans.

“Everyone in the team knows their responsibility. Yes, the pressure of expectations are always there. But the important matter is to contribute on time,” Shakib said.

Meanwhile Bangladesh’s newly appointed head coach Russell Domingo has warned his disciples to guard against any sort of complacency.

Afghan skipper Rashid Khan also confident about his team’s strength. And unlike many other oppositions, they would not find the wicket condition in Bangladesh unfriendly as Afghanistan teams are also composed with buzzing spinner.

Zahir Khan claimed a fifer in the warm-up game proved their enough spin support for Rashid Khan.

The Afghan spinner said, “You win against a lower team or against a higher team, winning always gives you the confidence and energy. That’s what we got from the last game against Ireland. We had the good game batting wise, bowling wise and fielding wise, and that’s what winning gives you – full confidence.”

Although slight rain have been forecast during the match day, otherwise it would be bright autumn days in Chittagong.
