Bangladesh initiate WC 2019 journey convincingly

Bangladesh have just launched their ICC World Cup Cricket 2019 journey with utmost convincingly defeating hot favorite, mighty South Africa by 21 runs at the Kennington Oval in London on Sunday.

A well-saturated batting display powered Bangladesh to post their highest ever limited over score facing South Africa in their inaugural match of CWC 2019 that facilitated their win as the Proteas batsmen were restricted to 309 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their stipulated 50 overs.

Apart from batting, Bangladesh also displayed matured bowling effort in combination of pace and spin. Youngsters Mohammad Saifuddin and Mustafizur Rahman led the way from the front accompanied by ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who scalped his 250th wicket in limited over cricket when he dismissed Proteas opener Aiden Markram.

Mustafizur and Saifuddin shared 5 wickets between them.

In the earlier phase of the match, the subcontinent team’s innings was powered by a pair of stroke full half-centuries from wicket keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim and world number one all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan that eventually led Bangladesh to score 330 for 6, the highest score made by them in limited over cricket till to date.

Mushfiqur Rahim scored the highest 78 while Shakib Al Hasan accompanied with 75. Mahmudullah Riyad and Mosaddek Hossain produced late over blitz to take the team total to a formidable one at the end of the fiftieth over.

The win, however, became a major boost for the country to start the mega event in England and Wales when former World Cup champions Sri Lanka and Pakistan were dismantled heavily in the beginning of the competition.
