A spirited Bangladesh overturned West Indies’ big total, made record in successful run chase on the way to register a comprehensive 7 wickets victory at the Cooper Association County Ground in Taunton on Monday.

Shakib walked to the crease in the ninth over when Soumya Sarkar departed after constructing a half century opening partnership, the required run rate, at that time, was touching 6.5 an over.

But the Tigers never looked back; Shakib pulled off a splendid 99 ball 124, set the tempo of the innings brilliantly with Litton Kumar Das who was, perhaps missed his ton for the lack of runs on the board, became unbeaten at 94.

In the afternoon, toss favored Mashrafe Mortaza once again and he sent the Caribbeans to bat first. The decision, however, seemed like backfired despite Saifuddin managed to sent Chris Gayle back before opening up his account, West Indies kept the wheel running high.

Shai Hope batted all the way through, got unlucky to lose his wicket at 94. With him, Evin Lewis and Shimron Hetmyer also set the tone for the Caribbeans with respective half centuries.

West Indies scored 321 runs losing 8 wickets in their allotted fifty overs.
