Tom Curran picked up wickets off each of the last two balls of the game as England survived from a blistering knock of Proteas captain Quinton de Kock to register a thrilling two-run win in the second T20I in Durban.

The high-scoring encounter embodied with 30 shots of sixes and produced 400 runs, saw England leveling the three match series 1-1.

Chasing 204 runs, the home team needed three off the last two balls but Curran, got Dwaine Pretorius lbw after being smacked for 12 runs in first three balls.

South African captain Quinton de Kock produced a whirlwind knock of 65 facing 22 balls that comprised of eight sixes; he and Temba Bavuma stood for a 92-run opening partnership after which Mark Wood dismissed both openers to back England in control.

But Rassie van der Dussen and Dwaine Pretorius with 43 not out and 25 respectively pulled South Africa close enough sensing the victory before Curran finished things off for England.

In the beginning of the match, England made 204 for seven, with man of the match Moeen Ali hitting 39 off 11 balls. In last five over, English batsmen took 79 runs in total.

Ben Stokes made best of his returns for the T20 side hammering 47 not out off 30 balls.

The third and final match will be played at the Centurion on Sunday.
