If you ask who was among talk of the town before the mega ICC event even begins? It was definitely Jofra Archer, the Barbadian born English speed star.

The fast bowler has already made himself essential in all the franchise leagues around the world. In his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut, he played for Rajasthan Royals against Mumbai Indians and took three wickets leading him to achieve man of the match award.

To many, speed star Jofra Archer is considered the trump card for England team. Prior to the World Cup, the fast bowler of the emerged from the Caribbean island played four warm up matches in total out of five in 50 overs.

Archer took three wickets in the last match before world cup bowling in 5.2 overs. Although he is inexperienced, the 24-year old is a vastly talented player, who has proved to many cricket experts that he has the ability to make the World Cup shine and it’s the right choice for the board to keep him in the final squad of the World Cup.

On Thursday, Archer has just proved his worth in the opening match of the World Cup against South Africa.

With his pace & bounce, he troubled African batsmen consistently and scalped major wickets in the Proteas line up.

The young gun is ready to take any challenge. He utilized the experience of the IPL and the Big Bash fully in the first match of World Cup taking 3 wickets for 27 years delivering in 7 overs in total.
