Afghanistan continued their dominance in T20Is, have sealed victory in their second successive match at the tri-series through defeating hosts Bangladesh easily by 25 runs at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

Afghan performers prevailed over Bangladesh in all sections of the game. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Afghanistan batsmen justified the decision through piling up 164 runs for the loss of 6 wickets despite suffering early setbacks.

Saifuddin, while opening up the bowling, uprooted the stumps of Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the very first delivery of the Afghan innings. He picked up his second wicket in the match in his second over and in between these, when Shakib Al Hasan dismissed Hazratullah Zazai, Afghanistan were 3 down at 19.

But Mohammad Nabi single-handedly rescued the visiting team from further downfall. Together with Asghar Afghan, he constructed 79-run fifth wicket partnership that eventually piloted Afghanistan to a commanding total of 164 at the end of their allotted overs.

Saifudding, who claimed 4-fer in the match, dismissed Asghar Afghan at 40 off 37 deliveries. He strike 3 fours and 2 sixes in his innings.

Nabi continued his dominance, in the 18th over of the innings, bowled by Soyma Sarkar, he lofted two fours and two sixes followed by few more hits in the next over delivered by Saifuddin.

Bangladesh’s reply was quite similar in the beginning of that of Afghanistan with Liton Das being sent back to pavilion in the second ball of the innings.

Experienced wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim who opened the innings, failed to cope with the responsibility, played an errand shot losing his wicket in the second over.

Ironically there was no one for Bangladesh to resist the debacle. Mahmudullah, without finding any proper partner, stood for a while in the middle but it was never enough to chase down the substantial total.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman ransacked through Bangladesh innings, bagging 4 for 15 in his four while Rashid Khan, Gulbadin Naib, Fareed Malink all picked up two wickets each.
