PCB Chairman calls Sarfraz to motivate for next matches

Having lost three out of five matches they played in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Pakistan are now languishing ninth in the point table.

They put a horrible show in the high voltage clash against arch-rivals India; in a rather one-sided affair, India thrashed Pakistan by 89-runs, continuing their World Cup success run. This is, however, the men in blue’s seventh win against Pakistan in the mega ICC event.

The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reportedly called Sarfraz Ahmed, the skipper of the side to motivate for the upcoming matches.

Mani also assisted Sarfraz not to lose focus hearing media criticisms and advised them to keep their cool. Being the captain, Sarfraz became the main target of angry mobs.

Mani said that the whole nation is beside the team as they need to focus on four matches lying ahead rather than dwelling on what happened in the past.

On Monday, Sarfraz warned his teammates to get ready to face public wreath back home. “I’m not going home alone,” he said.

Pakistan cricketers are questioned for their fitness standards; some of the veteran campaigners like Shoaib Malik along with others enjoyed at the Shisha Lounge the night before the marquee clash added fuel to fire.

Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar called Sarfaraz a ‘brainless captain’.

Pakistan, in their next match, will face South Africa on June 23 at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. To get back the hopes of semi-final, Pakistan would have to win all their remaining matches and also receive favorable results in other matches.
