Hosts India crushed Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs inside three days in the first Test at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Saturday.

Mohammed Shami led all the way of a superb display of pace bowling as the tourists could not cross 213 runs in their second innings after being forced to follow on.

Bangladesh faced similar fates in both the innings after India declared their first innings in a mammoth 493-6. The morning session saw the touring side losing 4 wickets with 44 runs on the board.

Mushfiqur Rahim, who made 64, constructed fifty partnerships with Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz  but those were not even close enough to make India bat again.

Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin claimed 3 for 42 but it was Mohammad Shami who inflicted much pain upon Bangladesh batting line up. Shami was later adjudged Man of the Match.

Earlier, India declared their first innings with a massive lead of 343 runs in reply to Bangladesh’s first innings total of 150.
