Trinbago Knight Riders record second highest total in T20 history

Trinbago Knight Riders’ total of 267 runs has become the second-highest T20 score ever in the history of the game.

In a record breaking match in the Caribbean Premier League 2019, Trinbago Knight Riders registered the highest total in the history of the tournament reaching 267/2 against Jamaica Tallawahs at the Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica.

Trinbago Knight Riders’ total of 267 runs has become the second-highest T20 score ever in the history of the game. The highest total belongs to Afghanistan and Czech Republic who both scored 278 runs against Ireland and Turkey respectively.

This particular match saw a total of 35 sixes, two shy of all-time record. In franchise T20 leagues, St Kitts Nevis Patriots, Jamaica Tallawahs, Balkh Legends and Kabul Zwanan hold the record of maximum sixes hitting 37 over-boundaries each.

For the Knight Riders, New Zealand batsman Colin Munro smashed an unbeaten 96 off 50 deliveries while Lendl Simmons scored 86 from 42 deliveries.

A whopping 154 runs came from the last eight overs, with the 13th over delivered by Powell conceded 23 runs. Munro and Pollard remained unbeaten on 96 and 45, respectively.

Jamaica Tallawahs also made strong chase scoring 226 runs in their innings letting TKR to win the match by 41 runs that stretched their unbeaten run to four consecutive games.

The win means Trinbago Knight Riders have returned to the top of the Caribbean Premier League table.​
