In the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup, India have emerged as winners marginally defeating Bangladesh by 5 runs. In reply to India’s 106 runs, Bangladesh under-19 team were restricted to 101 runs.

Skipper Akbar tried to built the innings for a while partnering with Shahadat Hossain. He failed to do so when Shahadat’s poor run ended scoring 3 off 30 deliveries.

Bangladesh lost their sixth wicket with just 51 runs on the board after Shamim Hossain also departed. In the seventh wicket partnership, Akbar and Mrittunjoy hold their nerves dragging the team towards the victory target. But India strike back taking both the batsmen in consecutive deliveres.

Rakibul Hasan and Tanjimul Islam Shakib put up some resistance in the ninth wicket partnership. Together they almost reached into the brink of victory with 23 runs stand but a wrong judgement from the part of the field umpires ruined the effort.

Shakib, after scoring 12 runs, was given leg before wicket despite the ball touched the bat. As the last batsman Shaheen Alam could stay to face three deliveries only in the crease, Bangladesh under-19 innings ended at 101.
